There will be no trash, recycling, brush, or large item collection on Monday, July 4, 2022 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. The Streets Division drop-off sites will also be closed.
Trash & Recycling Collection
Madison residents who normally have their refuse and recycling collected on Monday should instead place their carts to the curb for collection by 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
Refuse and recycling pickup for residents that have a regularly scheduled Tuesday collection day will also occur on July 5. These residents should have their carts out by 6:30am on this date to ensure collection as well.
If you are unsure if this holiday affects your collection, download your collection calendar today from www.cityofmadison.com/CollectionSchedule. Keep in mind that as of August 1, 2022 many west side residents will have their trash and recycling pickup date change.

Large Item Work Orders
Collections for large item work orders for the week of July 3, 2022 will begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
Brush Collection
Clean-up from the severe storms on June 13 will pause for the July 4 holiday and resume the morning of Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
The Streets Division remains committed to the goal of having all storm-related brush that has been set to the curb picked up by July 8, 2022.
Drop-off Sites
All three Streets Division drop-off sites will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022.
They will reopen for their posted hours on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
Drop-off sites are different this year than in years past. Please check the Streets Division drop-off website to learn the hours and locations of the sites. The drop-off website is www.cityofmadison.com/DropOffSites.
