After 83 years, Kramer Madison comes full circle and once again in woman-owned. Gina Weise purchased Kramer Madison from Todd and Liz Tiefenthaler on October 1, 2019. Weise has worked at the company for over 30 years and was most recently the company's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. The Tiefenthalers will remain active in the business for the next year.
In 1936, Mildred Gill Kramer, one of the first women to graduate from the UW-Madison School of Business, founded Kramer Printing. Kramer was a pioneer in an industry dominated by men and built a flourishing letter shop on the Capitol Square. After many successful years in business, Kramer sold the business to Felix Kremer who eventually sold it to Todd and Liz Tiefenthaler in 1984.

"It's an honor to follow in the footsteps of a female business owner and printing pioneer. To support her legacy, we will be donating a percentage of our profits to the Mildred Gill Kramer UW-Madison scholarship fund, Weise said."
Kramer has continued to grow and add services over the decades. In 1997 Kramer moved to its current 42,000 square-foot facility just north of Madison in Westport to support its growing operation. After starting out as a letter shop business, Kramer evolved into a full-service print and marketing agency, offering offset and digital printing, creative services, direct mail marketing, fulfillment and promotional products.
"I'm very excited about the future of Kramer. To remain competitive in today's marketplace, we'll continue to diversify into other methods to support our clients. Kramer currently provides design service, promotional products, direct mail marketing, digital services, strategic planning and, of course, printing," Weise concluded.
