Carruth's journey began with a childhood love of writing, nurtured by a teacher's encouragement and fueled by her own imagination. Years later, a moment of inspiration led to the creation of Abella, the adventurous tooth fairy at the heart of her now-renowned book series. Beyond her writing, Carruth is a dedicated philanthropist and community leader. In recognition of her contributions to literature and community, she has been selected to the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in December 2025 and will be honored by the American Cancer Society at the annual Tickled Pink Luncheon in April 2026.
