Flint Youth Film Festival Shifts Gears, Becomes Vehicle City Film Festival

FLINT, Mich. - WisconsinEagle -- After a decade of championing youth voices and creative storytelling, the Flint Youth Film Festival (FYFF) is officially shifting gears and entering a new chapter as the Vehicle City Film Festival (VCFF).

The new identity reflects the festival's evolution from a youth-focused initiative into a multi-generational film festival that welcomes youth, emerging, professional, and international filmmakers, while remaining deeply rooted in Flint.

Founded 10 years ago to provide young people with access to storytelling opportunities, FYFF has empowered hundreds of youth filmmakers through screenings, workshops, mentorship, and awards. As Vehicle City Film Festival, the organization builds on this foundation while expanding its platform to support filmmakers at every stage of their journey.

The name Vehicle City Film Festival honors Flint's historic identity as "Vehicle City" and positions the festival as a creative engine—driving innovation, diversity, and excellence in filmmaking while attracting national attention and tourism.

The Vehicle City Film Festival is scheduled for September 24–27, 2026, transforming Flint into a four-day hub for film screenings, education, networking, and cultural exchange.

VCFF continues its commitment to youth empowerment while expanding its reach:

• Youth (Ages 13–18): Film categories, workshops, mentorship, and awards
• Emerging Filmmakers (Ages 19–25): College students and early-career creators
• Professional Filmmakers (26+): Independent filmmakers and industry professionals

iMichigan Productions is a youth-based organization that provides reading and writing skill-based learning through the arts.
