The City of Madison has declared a snow emergency on January 23, 2022.
All City of Madison streets will be plowed today. Plowing began at 7:00am and it will take approximately 12 to 14 hours before all City of Madison streets receive their initial plowing. More information about the plowing operations can be found in the Snow Plow Update found at www.cityofmadison.com/Winter.
Since a Snow Emergency was declared, this means overnight alternate side parking restrictions will be in effect for at least the next two nights for the Snow Emergency Zone as well as the rest of the City of Madison.
During the overnight hours while the snow emergency is in effect, the Streets Division will be working to push back snow to the curb in an effort to keep streets wide and safe for all roadway users.
Violators of overnight alternate side parking rules can be ticketed and they may be towed.
You must also follow all posted daytime parking restrictions. These parking restrictions help plowing operations by creating an open lane of travel for plow trucks. Failure to follow posted daytime parking restrictions can result in your vehicle being ticketed and towed.
All Madison residents are encouraged to choose off-street parking options for their vehicles and trailers for the next two days. Fewer obstacles in the road means plowing operations will be safer, faster, and more complete.

Other Parking Information
Parking will be available in the cashiered sections of city-owned ramps in the downtown area. During a declared snow emergency you can park for no charge at the City ramps from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m. If you enter before 9 p.m. or leave after 7 a.m. you are liable for any parking charges before 9 p.m. and from 7 a.m. until the time you leave.
