~ The deadline for nominations for the Jeffrey Clay Erlanger Civility in Public Discourse Award has been extended until Friday, November 15, according to a recent press release. This prestigious award, given annually, recognizes a resident of the Madison area who embodies the values of collaboration and cooperation that were exemplified by Jeff Erlanger during his time in Madison's government.
In previous years, recipients of this award have included notable figures such as the City's Poet Laureate, former members of the Common Council, leaders in non-profit organizations, a prominent neighborhood association leader, and the Executive Director of the Bayview Foundation.

The organizers of this award are calling on members of the community to think of individuals who have made significant contributions through their volunteer or professional work. In these times of heightened stress and division, they are seeking nominees who use their energy and efforts to bring people together.
Nominations can be submitted for one or two individuals and must be received by November 15. The winner will not only receive recognition for their efforts but will also have the opportunity to designate a local non-profit organization to receive a $250 donation. The person who nominates them will also have the chance to choose a non-profit to receive a donation.
