~ Madison, WI- Get ready to hit the streets and enjoy a day of fun and fitness at Ride the Drive 2025! This highly anticipated event, now in its 16th year, will take place on Sunday, August 10 and will feature three park hubs connected by 2.38 miles of closed streets. Participants can choose to stroll, roll, pedal or glide their way through the route which includes portions of John Nolen Drive and Williamson Street. The park hubs at Olin Park, Law Park, and McPike Park will offer a variety of activities, food options, and entertainment for all ages.

Since its inception in 2009, Ride the Drive has been a celebration of Madison's dedication to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. The event highlights the environmental and economic benefits of alternative modes of transportation while also emphasizing the importance of social integration.

One of the main goals of Ride the Drive is to encourage healthy living for both adults and children by providing a safe space free from motor vehicles. Last year's event drew an estimated 12,000 participants who were able to enjoy a car-free experience while taking part in various activities at the Parks Hubs along the route.

The success of Ride the Drive would not be possible without the support from generous donors. This year, Madison Parks Foundation has donated $10,000 towards the event. Stephanie Franklin, Executive Director of the Foundation expressed her gratitude saying, "Thanks to our amazing donors, we are honored to sponsor this fantastic event and contribute to the wonderful programming offered in Madison's parks."

On August 10th from 9:00am to 3:00pm, John Nolen Drive from Olin Avenue to Williamson St. and Williamson Street to Ingersoll Street will be closed for Ride the Drive 2025. With nearly 200 volunteers playing essential roles in making this event a success, including around 100 intersection guides, the community is encouraged to get involved. Most shifts are only 2 hours, allowing volunteers to also enjoy the event.

Ride the Drive is organized by the City of Madison Parks Division in collaboration with various city agencies and local organizations. This year's event promises to be a day filled with fun, fitness, and community spirit. So mark your calendars and join in on the excitement at Ride the Drive 2025!
