Mind mapping software boosts executive productivity and creativity by 30%: Survey

WATERFORD, Wis. - WisconsinEagle -- Mind mapping software is an essential tool that savvy executives rely on to help them bring order and clarity to complex issues and challenges, innovate more effectively and uncover new connections and insights in their work, according to participants in the 2019 Mind Mapping Software User Survey.

Published by the Mind Mapping Software Blog, this biennial survey showed that it increases the productivity and creativity of its users by an average of 30%, a 10% increase compared to the 2017 survey. Expert users enjoy even bigger gains.

The biggest benefit of mind mapping software, according to survey respondents, is that it helps them understand complex challenges better. Other top benefits include an enhanced ability to manage information overload, synthesizing information more easily and reaching clarity of thinking faster on key business issues.

One out of five survey respondents (23.3%) said that mind mapping software has had a "revolutionary" effect on the way in which they work. The majority of survey respondents also declared that it enables them to tackle complex tasks that they would have otherwise avoided if they didn't use mind mapping software.

"Executives and knowledge workers depend on mind mapping software to help them brainstorm, plan and manage projects. They use it to collaborate and innovate. It is an essential tool to help them work creatively, productively and effectively," explains Chuck Frey, the founder and author of the Mind Mapping Software Blog. "It enables them to externalize, analyze and elevate their thinking in a highly flexible, visual format."

New questions in this year's survey focused on:

• Mind mapping software's evolving role as a solution of choice for visualizing and working efficiently with vast quantities of information,
• Its degree of efficacy as a dynamic information dashboard,
• How effective it is at helping to prevent information overload,
• Its ability to make data, information and knowledge more relevant and useful to its users and others, and
• Users' reactions to software developers adding new views and diagram types to their mind mapping programs (e.g., kanban, timeline and flow chart views).
