BROOKFIELD, Wis. - WisconsinEagle -- Even a registered letter can't find Scott Fitzgerald these days. The Senate Majority leader and opponent of Tom Palzewicz for the Fifth Congressional District seat, is nowhere to be found. How do his current constituents reach him? He never seems to be available?
The Palzewicz campaign sent the letter inviting Fitzgerald to debate the issues in public, but the majority leader has yet to be found to sign for it. His house, his office...no signature.
"I know he is a powerful Republican in this state and he probably figures that after 40 years of Jim Sensenbrenner, he is a shoe-in for the job," said Palzewicz. "But with all due respect, his refusal to debate or even sign for a letter, is not a good indication that he will in any way be responsible to the people of Wisconsin in Washington. Leadership is not about ignoring people, it's about engaging people."

"This really does not surprise me because this is the way he has approached his position in government for years. Just ignore the people and follow the party. He and his colleagues have gerrymandered the state and have all but crippled the democratic process in the state legislature. He will bring that same authoritarian mindset to Washington."
Palzewicz has promised transparency, availability, integrity and an ethical approach to everything he does in government. He is willing to share his ideas, discuss issues and most of all listen to opposing points of view. He will night hide in the corners and refuse to face the public.
