~ As the fall season comes to an end, the city of Madison is preparing for its final guaranteed leaf collection. According to the city's yard waste website, some neighborhoods will have their set out day for leaves and yard waste on Sunday, November 10, 2024. However, other neighborhoods will have later set out dates for their final guaranteed collection.
Residents are advised to check the website, www.cityofmadison.com/YardWaste, to find out when their specific neighborhood's final guaranteed set out date will occur. The city has also announced that the final guaranteed leaf collection round will last through the first week of December.

However, it is uncertain if there will be any additional leaf collection opportunities later in December. This is due to the fact that the same personnel responsible for collecting leaves are also in charge of driving snowplows. In case of a snow event, they may be needed to respond and therefore unable to continue with leaf collection.
For those who miss their final guaranteed set out date or have excess yard waste, drop-off sites are available. The hours and locations of these sites can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/DropOffSites. It is important to note that these sites have seasonal hours and residents should be aware when they switch to winter hours. Any updates regarding additional leaf collections or changes in drop-off site hours will be announced by the city.
