Madison: Southwest and Southeast Area Plans Submitted for Final Review and Adoption

~ The Southwest and Southeast Area Plan project teams have recently announced the submission of their Final Draft Plans for review and adoption. These plans will be presented to the Common Council at their upcoming meeting on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

According to the project teams, copies of the plans are now available for public review and can be accessed online through Legistar and the respective web pages for the Southwest and Southeast Area Plans. Interested individuals are encouraged to review both plans before they are introduced to the Common Council.

Once introduced, the plans will then be referred to various Boards, Commissions, and Committees for further discussion and potential changes. These meetings will also provide an opportunity for public comment, with instructions on how to register for both spoken and written comments typically being posted on the Friday prior to each meeting.

The Plan Adoption Timeline has been set in place to ensure a thorough review process before a final decision is made by the Common Council. The timeline includes links to meeting notices where agendas will be posted. The project teams are looking forward to receiving feedback from the community during this important stage of plan adoption.
