~ As the Nakoma Road Sidewalk Project enters its second month, progress is being made according to schedule. The project, which began on August 27th, has resulted in the closure of the intersection of Cherokee Drive and Nakoma Road. This closure will continue until the week of October 27th as crews work on installing culverts, relocating utilities, and restoring and repaving the area.
This update comes after a previous announcement on August 13th, where it was stated that Nakoma Road would be fully closed to traffic from Tumalo Trail to Manitou Way starting on August 27th. Additionally, Cherokee Drive would also be closed at the intersection with Nakoma Road. Local traffic and buses have been rerouted onto Manitou Way in both directions.
