~ As the spring season begins, Urban Forestry is gearing up for their annual planting season in the City of Madison. Today, on Monday, April 7, 2025, crews will begin planting approximately 1,400 trees along city streets.
The selection of trees includes 33 different species, carefully chosen by trained arborists to ensure a diverse and resilient canopy that can thrive in an urban environment. This variety of trees will not only benefit the city's landscape but also its residents for years to come.
The planting process will take place throughout the city and involves multiple Urban Forestry crews working in an assembly-line method to maximize efficiency. This spring planting is expected to continue until the end of the month.
