No Download Needed: Goosechase Adds Browser Play to Every Experience

TORONTO - WisconsinEagle -- This fall, phone-free is the new default in U.S. classrooms. Twenty-six states now mandate bell-to-bell bans on personal devices, according to Ballotpedia. That moves classroom activities onto school-managed devices, where installing a new app typically means an IT ticket, not a tap. "Just download the app" has become a much bigger ask.

Goosechase, the edtech platform for interactive experiences that turns scavenger hunt-style games into lessons, team builders, and community events, has an answer: a web app that lets participants join and play any Goosechase Experience from any browser, on any device, with nothing to download and nothing to install.

The browser version delivers the same full experience as the mobile app: photo and video Missions, GPS check-ins, team play, all of it. Shared Chromebook carts, library desktops, a borrowed tablet at a school event: if it has a browser and an internet connection, it runs Goosechase. And the student privacy protections Goosechase creators already rely on carry over to the browser, including joining an Experience without creating an account.

"Goosechase has always been about closing the distance between a great idea and the people it's meant for," said Andrew Cross, Founder and CEO of Goosechase. "The web app removes the last step standing in the way: the download. There's just the Experience."

In a summer 2026 survey of K-12 teachers using Goosechase, 95% of surveyed teachers said students were more engaged than in a typical lesson, and 95% said students asked to play again. Now all that energy is one link away, in class or anywhere else a crowd needs to get going, from back-to-school nights to community fundraisers.
