Dr. Mark I. Gutt is the first periodontist in Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County to offer a new, robotic-assisted dental implant placement system. Developed by Neocis, YOMI® is a state-of-the-art robotic dental assistant that helps Dr. Gutt place dental implants with much greater accuracy and precision.
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - WisconsinEagle -- Dr. Mark I. Gutt has introduced the YOMI® robotic-assisted dental implant placement system in his Miami Beach, Florida office. A board-certified periodontist, Dr. Gutt received his periodontal specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania. He has over 30 years' experience treating gum disease and placing dental implants. He is the first periodontist in Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County to offer this new, advanced technology to the community.
"Dental implant treatment requires attention to many factors to ensure success," Dr. Gutt explained. "These include the location, angle, and depth of the implant. With YOMI®, precision and accuracy are enhanced using state-of-the-art software and robotic technology."

"Robotic assisted surgery is becoming more common in hospitals for medical procedures," Dr. Gutt said. "We are excited to be the first periodontal office in Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County to bring robotic-assisted dental implant placement technology to dentistry."
Developed by Neocis, YOMI® is the first and only FDA-cleared robot-assisted dental surgery implant placement system. The system provides Dr. Gutt with visual, auditory and touch feedback. Dr. Gutt remains in full control and in direct contact with the instruments and the patient.
With YOMI®'s assistance, Dr. Gutt places dental implants in the precise, previously planned location using a minimally invasive technique—a small opening in the gum tissue. This approach means faster recovery after surgery. This advanced system also helps ensure the ideal placement of the replacement tooth at the restorative phase.
Another advantage of YOMI® is that it saves time. "Before I introduced this high-tech system," Dr. Gutt explained, "it was often necessary to take an impression and send it to a dental laboratory to fabricate a surgical guide. With YOMI® not only is this step eliminated but accuracy is improved. It is now possible with proper scheduling to plan a case and place dental implants the same day."

The YOMI® system assists Dr. Gutt in placing one implant or multiple implants. "We have routinely placed dental implants to support an entire arch of replacement teeth. Now we take advantage of the computer precision that YOMI® provides for all implant cases, including complete arches."
Asked how patients are responding to YOMI®, Dr. Gutt reports very positive reactions. "Patients love it," he said. "They often comment that dental implant placement was quick and easy. I also work with many outstanding dentists who are enthusiastic about this new technology that offers so many benefits to their patients."
Dr. Gutt has offices in Miami Beach and Key West, Florida. The practice is accepting new patients. Dr. Gutt may be contacted through his website, www.southfloridaperio.com
