~ The City of Madison Streets Division is introducing a new map-based lookup system to make it easier for residents to find their yard waste and brush set out dates and cart schedules. This new tool is especially useful for the fall season when looking up the dates to set out leaves for curbside pickup.
The map-based tool can be found on the yard waste, brush, and collection schedule websites by clicking on the blue button that says "Try Lookup Map". After entering an address into the upper left hand corner of the map page, it will zoom into that address. The map will then reveal the set out dates for yard waste and brush, as well as a link to the trash and recycling collection calendar for that home. Directions are also provided on the right hand side if needed.
The Streets Division has received many questions from residents who have trouble entering their address into the lookup form on their websites. To get this form to work, one must separate their street name from the street type, which can be difficult with addresses that do not follow typical naming conventions. With this new system, users can enter their address as they would in any other online map.

The Streets Division wants feedback from those who use this new tool. Is it easier than the form? About the same? Did it work as expected? Are there things that could be better or clearer with the map? They encourage users to use the feedback link provided on the map tool in order to provide comments regarding their user experience with this tool. If there are any questions or comments about collection services, such as missed yard waste collection, they should use the appropriate report-a-problem form at www.cityofmadison.com/ReportaProblem so operations managers can take steps to resolve those issues quickly.
More information about all of Streets Division services can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/Streets . The City of Madison Streets Division hopes this new system will make it easier for residents to find their collection schedules and set out dates in order to utilize their services more efficiently and effectively.
