~ As the planning for the Southwest and Southeast Area Plans enters its second phase, residents, community organizations, and businesses are encouraged to participate in a series of public meetings in the coming weeks. The City of Madison has been working on these plans since 2024 and has already received valuable feedback from the community through surveys, interactive mapping comments, and previous meetings.
The upcoming meetings will provide an overview of the issues and opportunities within the planning area and give attendees a chance to review and comment on draft plan actions. The virtual meetings will include presentations followed by discussions and feedback sessions. In-person meetings will also have a brief presentation before opening up for an open house format.

The Southeast Area Plan specifically covers the area bounded by I-39/90 to the east, Sigglekow Road/Village of McFarland to the south, Starkweather Creek/City of Monona to the west, and Highway 30 to the north. Residents can learn more about this plan by visiting the City of Madison's website.
For those who require interpretation services, please contact staff at southeastareaplan@cityofmadison.com at least three days before the meeting. This ensures that appropriate accommodations can be made for all attendees.
The City of Madison is committed to involving its residents in important planning processes such as these. By participating in these public meetings, community members have another opportunity to voice their opinions and contribute to shaping their neighborhoods for years to come.
