ATLANTA - WisconsinEagle -- The Small Environmental Business Action Coalition (SEBAC) is pleased to announce the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as the recipient of the 2022 Award for Excellence. SEBAC presents the award to recognize a Federal agency's demonstrated commitment to small environmental business.
Procurement data researched by FEDMINE.US specific to North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) codes 562910 and 541620 was evaluated based on the number and quality of agency procurements and the agency's overall commitment to small businesses. These data were used as a component in determining the recipient of the Award for Excellence along with a pre-established set of criteria which includes three key components:

In the federal government's fiscal year 2022, USACE far exceeded the Small Business Administration's statutory goal of 23% by awarding 79% of prime contractor dollars in NAICS codes 562910 and 541620 to small businesses. SEBAC recognizes USACE for acknowledging the strength of the environmental small business community by setting aside major contracts, such as single award and multiple award environmental compliance and remedial action contracts.
SEBAC President, John Dwyer, and Monica Cooper, Award for Excellence Chairperson, will present the Award during SEBAC's Networking Reception and Award Presentation during the Society of American Military Engineers Small Business Conference at Music City Center in Nashville, TN on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 6:30 PM in Room 207AB. LTG Scott A. Spellmon (Commanding General, USACE) or MG Kimberly Colloton (Directorate Commanding General of Military Programs) will be present to accept the award on behalf of USACE.

SEBAC was formed to act as a unifying voice for addressing issues that face small environmental businesses nationwide. Membership is open to small businesses primarily engaged in the environmental industry with 750 or fewer employees. Member companies perform environmental investigations, design, engineering, remediation, operations and maintenance, and ordinance and explosives work for federal agencies and commercial businesses.
