~ As the annual Ride the Drive event approaches, the Madison Parks Division has announced that multiple streets will be closed on Sunday, August 10 from 9:00am to 3:00pm. This event, which encourages people to explore the city by bike or on foot, will require all vehicles to be removed from the closed streets by 8:00am.
According to the details of traffic closures released by the Parks Division, John Nolen Drive will be closed from Olin Avenue to the S Blair/Williamson Street intersection. However, controlled access will be allowed to the Machinery Row parking lot. Additionally, Williamson Street will also be closed from S Blair Street to S Ingersoll Street. Controlled cross-traffic will only be allowed at Patterson Street.

For those traveling on US 151, a signed detour along Gorham Street, Johnson Street and Park Street will help navigate around the event area. Limited controlled traffic will also be permitted to cross the route at designated locations shown on the Ride the Drive map.
