~ The Madison Fire Department is gearing up to welcome their next class of Firefighter/EMTs this spring. As part of their recruitment process, the department will be hosting a series of open houses to provide interested individuals with more information about a career with MFD.
The open houses will offer a variety of dates, times, and ways for potential candidates to attend. This includes virtual open houses on Thursday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 17 for those who are unable to attend in person. The virtual sessions will be live on Zoom and registration is required.
For those who prefer an in-person experience, there will be an open house at Fire Station 14 on Saturday, March 14 and at Fire Station 2 on Wednesday, March 25. Additionally, there will be an open house specifically for women on Tuesday, March 17 and a military service member recruitment open house on Sunday, April 26 at Fire Station 8.

No prior experience in fire or EMS is necessary to apply for the position of Firefighter/EMT with MFD. Each open house will provide attendees with the opportunity to connect with current members of the department and learn about the day-to-day responsibilities of a firefighter/EMT. It is also a chance to have any questions answered.
Interested individuals can visit the Join MFD page on the department's website to learn more about the career opportunity and what qualities they look for in successful candidates. The application period for Firefighter/EMT positions will run from April 1 through May 26.
